I remember the days when the Staten Island Ferry Terminal was full of guys spraying aerosol cans and lighting the stuff on fire – just for kicks. It was like the movie about all those NY Gangs from the ’80 – a really tacky movie (I hope I remember before I finish). It was bad, like Times Square without the charm.
So, let’s say my expectations were wildly exceeded on my return to Staten Island for the Yankee – Jammer Game. The Ferry ride was nice, but I was still waiting for all heck to break loose at the terminal.
But no, it was cool, and since I didn’t care who won (the Jammers 3-1) I can honesty add this to the list of Minor League baseball games I’ve enjoyed. I have more in my folder – and still think dollar for dollar they are the best buy in sports entertainment.
