I love Minor League Baseball and wrote a Stusbtory a little while ago about a game I was at with Brockton-Rox-vs-Jackalsbetween the Somerset Patriots and the Camden Riversharks. It was one of a series of Minor League games among which was with this game from Yogi Berra Stadium, and the New Jersey Jackals.
You heard me right – Yogi Berra Stadium. Face it – the guy’s a legend, has more rings than Liz Taylor and when it comes to all time Yanks – he’s the bridge between the old times and Jeter. After #2 – there may never be another one like them.
Here’s what I can tell you, outside of my general recommendation (again) that this is a cost jackals-logoeffective, totally fun way to watch a game. I think this was the Jackals first year in the Can-Am league, before that it was the Canadian Bacon league I think. Everything is on a college campus, and the whole place can hold maybe 4,000 people. You can hear every pitch pop in the catcher’s mitt.
I took a look online – at the Jackals webpage and got some cool facts about the place, you can google your own favorite Yogi-isms – kill an afternoon with them. But if you live nearby – try a game early next year – in case you like it and want to go more.
