I spoke to a friend in early part of the year and he asked if I would like to join him and his boys to a Met’s game on June 1 with their little league team. Being a lifelong Yankee fan I reluctantly accepted, they are friends and it would be my one time of the year to make it out to Citifield. With the sky cloudy and threatening to rain hard, I made my way down to Queens to meet up with my friend.
It wasn’t until the late in the 6th inning that it came over us that Santana had real chance for a NO-NO. From the cheap seat on the 3rd base side we did see Beltran’s 6th inning foul ball call, that was fair.
But for the Met fans congratulation it only took you team 8,020 games and 50 years. For me I will have my memories of that Thursday night I spent in Shea Stadium in October 2000 when the Yankees won the world series.
