Edaville USA is a Heritage Railroad located in Carver Massachusetts not far from Historic Plymouth. It was started in 1947 by Ellis D Atwood (E.D.A. ville) on his cranberry plantation. The train runs on narrow two foot gauge track throughout the cranberry bogs and reservoirs.
I grew up not far from it and had many fond memories of riding the train, climbing on the old locomotives, and enjoying the overall fun of the theme park, that it has become. So you can imagine how much fun it was for me to take my grandson to enjoy one of my favorite haunts and on a day that would feature Thomas the Train, Sir Topham Hat and lots more!
Well he had a ball, rode the train, was a bit shy with Sir Topham Hat, but enjoyed the many kid sized rides at the park! He especially enjoyed climbing on the retired locomotives and other old equipment like and antique fire engine etc. If you’ve got a youngster, it’s a great place to visit and during the holidays they have a festival of lights that the train rides through that is just gorgeous!
