I don’t know how many people are going to remember the American Soccer 
League, and even less the Carolina Lightnin’, but I do. I’m thinking they had 3, maybe 4 years before the league either went under or merged with “name your next soccer league”.
I can tell you the reason I held onto this ticket though – I was there with my brother-in-law, and his car was towed that night. Leaving us outside American Legion Stadium with no way home!
We were in a hurry to get in a good dinner before the game, so of course we were late for the soccer. Jimmy parked right on top of a big yellow X – it looked bad but we figured eveything would be OK. Instead it took 3 hours and 2 Sheriffs to get his Camaro out of impound.
I love the guy – but what a maroon!
