Queen or the Clash? Choose wisely

Jan 25, 2016 No Comments by

by Kenton Larsen Sophie had it easy. When I was 15, my father gave me a nightmarish choice: he would take me to the Twin Cities to see either Queen or the Clash, but not both. I still love both bands, but my favorite album at the time was Queen’s Greatest Hits, so I chose […]

Bowie ticket stubs conjure up memories and lingering mystery

Jan 15, 2016 No Comments by

by: Kenton Larsen I’ve seen David Bowie live four times. Actually, make that five times if you include a chance encounter at a bus stop. I was in the crowd in Winnipeg, Canada for the 1983 Serious Moonlight tour, the 1987 Glass Spider tour, the 1990 Sound + Vision tour, and the 2004 Reality tour. […]

Sex Pistols One-Off – the Roxy 2007

Jan 12, 2016 No Comments

by Karen Kritzer LA’s Roxy Theater.  2007.  Sid was long dead.  Lydon’s “Public Image Limited” was also laid to rest.  Steve Jones was hosting “Jonesy’s Jukebox” on Indie 103.1 and I was/am a rabid Jonesy fan.  Paul Cook guested on Steve’s show and their banter about their Sex Pistols days were side splitting hilarious. OzzFest & Sooooo Much More!

Jan 06, 2016 No Comments

Ahh, it was time, yet again, to enjoy a show of our choosing. Seeing how we had bought the “wrong” tickets for the show (Ticketmaster sold us tickets for the seats at OzzFest NOT the pit area as we told them this is what we wanted) we had an extra large gang with us to […]

Ah, Quinn the Eskimo – encore

Dec 02, 2015 No Comments

by Jon Hemlock No-one will ever call the Meadowland a great venue for a shows, but as always, the band did their part and the NY crowd (always there and into it) was providing enough energy for 200,000 people. I was there with a couple of buddies who has taken the trip up from DC […]

Arlo Guthrie – thanks for Alice’s Restaurant

Nov 26, 2015 No Comments
