History – thanks to a friend named Steve

Oct 22, 2013 2 Comments by

Received a call from my friend Steve on Tuesday evening, with an extra ticket to Game 1 of the NLDS game Phillies vs. Reds 10/06/10; little did I realize at the time that I would be witnessing baseball history (thanks to a friend named Steve) the start of Doc-tober.

Roy ‘Doc’ Halladay throws a no –hitter and missing a perfect game by one walk.  The crowd was so intense the final 3 innings with the anticipation of what was to be.  Everyone was on their feet cheering every out. The rally towels were out and everyone was celebrating as Carlos Ruiz threw out Phillips to record the final out to end the game.

After the last out was recorded and the celebration began – looking around the stadium no one was ready to leave. GO PHILS!!!

My friend bough tickets for this game as a gift for me being the best man in his wedding. What a treat to watch a Phils win and history being made as Halladay just kept mowing Reds batters down. I’ll never forget how amped up the crowd was on a drizzly, cold day. The really cool thing is that this is the second no hitter that me an my friend saw together (we were also at the Milwood game a few years back).
