Congo Gorilla Forest at the Bronx Zoo

I went to the Zoo to see the new-ish Congo Gorilla Forest at the Bronx Zoo, which did not disappoint. It was like a tropical rainforest, and it wasn’t just Gorillas. The trees were 50 feet high and the animals ranged from gazelles (I think) to smaller critters whose names I never got to know.

But at the end of the day it was about the big Monkeys, and the more you see these animals, the more you can laugh at the face of creationist – cause I have cousins who are dead ringers for some of the Gorillas (without the intelligence).

They’ve got vines in the trees (I read where most of them are face) for the apes to swing in, mist spraying and the calls of wild animals everywhere you go on your safari. I don’t usually like zoo’s, or circuses for the way the animals are so “unnatural”, it normally makes me feel a little sad. But I do remember thinking that these guys looked like they were enjoying themselves and their environment.

So all in all I give the Bronx Zoo a thumbs up – again.
